Director of Member Services
Looking for a member-focused individual to fill the management-level position of Director of Member Services. Assists members in person, by telephone or through electronic communication regarding inquiries related to their accounts and cooperative services and products to ensure superior service is provided to all members. Troubleshoots account issues and informs members of energy assistance options. Performs energy audits within the member’s home and educates members on energy efficiency improvements. Identifies, recommends and assists with the implementation of member service improvements to ensure superior service to the Cooperative's members. Provides input and assistance with preparing and distributing communication materials including brochures, billing inserts, member events and newsletters, member packets and other materials that are informative and educational for members.
Maintains and updates social media accounts and updates for the Cooperative. Coordinates and manages member and public relations events, including the Annual Meeting, Member Appreciation Event, Safety Demonstrations, and various charitable events to promote positive relations with our members, vendors and communities served by the Cooperative. Maintains a relationship with local and regional media in order to facilitate timely and favorable coverage of Cooperative programs and/or services, which, in general, enhance member and public awareness. The Director of Member Services, Building and Grounds is the member advocate of the organization whose main function is to educate, assist, and be a voice for the membership to ensure the highest level of service. This person will oversee the decisions for maintaining building and grounds needs within the headquarters office as well as two warehouse locations.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public relations, or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years' experience in customer service; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years' experience in customer service experience is required.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of electric utility and billing functions, general home wiring, home construction, or heating and cooling equipment is helpful. Must possess basic computer knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, have good organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with employees, members and the public. Continually keep informed of changing technology to properly perform the objectives of this position. Meet to the satisfaction of the cooperative any job related written, verbal or physical tests as may be required by the cooperative.
